Sony Introduces NFT-Like Feature for Storing Pictures
Electronics giant Sony has rolled out a new feature that redefines how images are stored. Interestingly, this new feature mirrors the core concepts behind NFTs and their underlying blockchain technology.
The new feature entails that photographers and other creators will be able to retain the authenticity of their content while combating deepfakes. This way, images and videos captured with a Sony camera can now be uniquely tracked and verified. Told ya it was like NFTs!
The electronics firm will introduce the new functionality in a firmware update for its Alpha 9 III, Alpha 1, and Alpha 7S III camera models this year. Could creators somehow bring this feature into the non-fungible realm? Let’s wait and see.
