Sony Launches Aibo NFTs

Electronics giant Sony has delved deeper into the NFT realm by launching Aibo, its 26-year-old robotic dog product line, on the Ethereum layer-2 scaling network Soneium. Now, this robotic dog will no longer be termed “archaic.”

After gracing the households of many for over two decades, Aibo has taken its charm and intelligence into the non-fungible realm. Since entering the NFT market, over 40,700 wallets have claimed the Aibo soulbound NFT. Available on the NFT marketplace OpenSea, these collectibles are claimable for free, where each wallet is eligible to mint up to 1,000 NFTs.

There’s a mystery, though. Sony’s team has not provided information on future utilities for the Aibo NFT collectibles. Still, if they come, they likely will be juicy. The minting window closes on March 24th. So, hurry now and claim yours. Remember, it’s free!
