News Story of the Week
Early Mickey Mouse Enters the Realm
The Walt Disney Company recently lost copyright ownership of its earliest Mickey Mouse character. Portrayed in the century-old short film titled Steamboat Willie, the rodent-themed character featured a mascot with no white gloves or oversized shoes, as we’ve seen in later versions.
Following the character’s entry into the public domain, several NFT collections themed around Steamboat Willie’s Mickey Mouse have emerged. Three such collections ranked among the trending projects on marketplaces like OpenSea, showcasing the overall captivation of fans’ attention.
These collections demonstrate how animation, art, and non-fungibility can be bridged. Stay tuned to see how more projects get the most of the earliest Mickey Mouse character.

Azuki Garden Tour Collectible Stamp
Prepare for a sunset summer bash as the Azuki community in Australia hosts Melbourne Garden. The landmark event is part of five community-led gatherings that kicked off in Hong Kong in November, followed by a stop in Taipei last month.
The land down under is the latest destination, with guests set to enjoy several mouthwatering benefits while connecting and engaging with other collectors.
You can attend the event by purchasing a Garden Tour passport, a gate pass that grants access to a branded stamp. On the other hand, Azuki supporters who will not make it to the live event can support the community by acquiring a support-only ticket.
Event stamps are being rolled out in two phases. The first phase, lasting for seven days, is for holders of Elementals and Beanz NFTs and their +1s. The second phase, which runs until the event day, enables holders and the public to join in supporting the event.
In previous events organized by Azuki, attendees received first-hand access to certain non-fungible benefits. Expectations thus remain high, especially after organizers promised a complimentary gift of Azuki physical collectibles for attendees!
If you’re an Azuki fan in Australia or with the liberty to travel from nearby, this may be the event of a lifetime.
